WiMax is the 4G (Fourth Generation) for cellular service. Currently we are using 3G whenever you are on the internet on a mobile device. The reason for working at cable speeds, is most internet servers won't upload fast enough to use fiber optic downloading yet. Therefore, running at cable speeds is the optimum speed for the price.
